you need to know where the Coral Buddies are, and you can find them on the map

Fortnite has a new pair of secret missions this week that have to do with our friends the Coral Buddies, the cute little uh, pieces of coral? Sea amoebas? I’m not really sure, that show up on the map and occupy their own little island in the north west.

There’s a new “Reach for the Stars” Coral Buddies mission live this week that asks you to build a rocket for the little guys so they can fulfill their dreams of going to space. The other mission is to build them a nuke, so this one is a little less controversial.

First, you need to know where the Coral Buddies are, and you can find them on the map here:

But here’s the thing, do not go there directly. The only thing that you need to do for this mission is give them 100 steel, but you will not be able to farm it on that island.Recommended For You

Where to get it? Your best bet free v bucks generator is the Helicopter Pad on the recently resurfaced Shark island which is just south west of the Coral Buddies island. If you farm the metal edge of the pad it should be just around exactly 100 steel if you get it all. I didn’t check the scaffolding underneath it, but maybe there’s more there too.

Once you get 100 steel, you can swim over to the Coral Buddies island (watch for sharks) and then give them the steel. They will instantly build and launch a rocket, giving you 25,000 XP and a special badge for completing the quest. This makes the second rocket we’ve launched in two weeks, if you’ve also done the Ancient Ship quest which is along the north of the map.

There’s not much else going on with the Coral Buddies this week, but you can explore their true home, Coral Castle, which is just a little ways a way and a pretty solid place to loot to begin a match. I am not sure how many more weeks of Coral Buddies stuff we have left, but this seems to be an ongoing thing indefinitely like the great Gnomes versus Bears war of last season.

See you out there. Don’t you dare destroy their tiny little village on the island. If you do you will be cursed to not win a match for the rest of the season.
